In the last few years the "sick building syndrome" has often made headlines.  According to some it is the price to pay for energy saving programs, while others say it is the result of the emergence of new values in our society.  Others still, more pragmatic, see it as a matter of productivity loss, up to 20 %.  More recently, contamination of buildings by microorganisms and fungi has made the air quality issue even more complex.
