Driving of Lift Trucks

In Quebec, the driving of lift trucks causes several lethal accidents and numerous disabilities each year. The causes: recklessness of drivers and their ignorance of elementary safety rules.

Because of this fact, the CSST has considerably hardened its regulation by making the training on the driving of lift trucks mandatory.

Hence, the CSST has changed the rules of the game, From now on, the lack of training certification of drivers in safe driving of lift trucks will entail penalties and operational interruptions. Moreover, the management of the organisation at fault might be subject to prosecution for criminal negligence in the case of lethal or serious accidents, since ignorance of the law is no defense.
