Mandatory Training on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Since 2002, The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act (Canada) forces the road, rail, air and sea shippers and carriers of gas, inflammable liquids and solids, corrosive, toxic, radioactive materials, contents under pressure and explosives to get a certificate of training in this matter.
It is a matter of public safety and prevention of serious accidents; this is why carriers and shippers must assume heavy responsibilities when it comes to dangerous goods.
Major penalties starting from $50 000 for the first offence to $10 000 for the second are foreseen by the law. Recidivists are also liable and therefore subject to imprisonment.
Development and Implantation of a TDG Program
To help you conform with the law, Santinel Inc. will elaborate an exhaustive program for you on the transport of Dangerous Goods that will help you act proactively (labeling of contents, selection of closets according to the loadings, complete and adequate documentation, etc.) and preventively during the loading, unloading, packing or unpacking of dangerous goods.
Adapted Training
Thanks to their trainers’ recognized expertise, Santinel also offers an adapted training according to your needs and those of your employees (driver, expedition clerk and/or reception clerk) that are targeted by the legislation.
The training certificate is valid for a period of three years for terrestrial transport and two years for air transport.
